The Leadership department offers two certificates, designed to give students a theoretical and practical knowledge of leadership:
- The Leadership Certificate (LDRC) complements many degree programs. Students develop skills that apply to leadership positions in a variety of work and community environments, including skills in communication, small group facilitation, critical analysis, and problem solving.
- The Change Leader Certificate (CHLC) is intended for those who want to effectively and ethically lead change in organizations and for teams and individuals. Students develop a well-rounded skill set for change leadership and develop their own vision for transformative change.
- The Community Leadership Certificate (CLDC) is intended for individuals employed at a community or public service agency who wish to gain leadership skills to assist in possible advancement within the agency.
- The Emerging Leader Certificate (ELDC) is intended for those beginning their leadership development. Students develop a well-rounded skill set for collaborative leadership in today's world, as well as increased self-confidence, and a clear philosophy and goals to apply to their role in shaping the future of their team or organization.
- The Emerging Manager Certificate (EMLC) is intended for those who are beginning their leadership development and want to manage others. Students develop a well-rounded skill set including communication strategies, how to be a collaborative leader, and how to handle conflict, while beginning to develop their management style.
- The Team Leader Certificate (TLDC) is intended for those who want to effectively lead teams while serving others. Students develop a well-rounded skill set that includes using positive leadership traits and communicating effectively, as well as developing increased self-confidence and a clear vision of how to best lead their team.
