Program Chairs and Department Chairs
At Cincinnati State, academic matters are overseen by faculty members who serve as the stewards of the areas they represent.
Program Chairs are responsible for curriculum development and implementation for bachelor's degree, associate degree, and certificate programs. Their responsibilities include maintaining the academic integrity of the program, advising students in the program, and coordinating with community partners to ensure that program graduates are prepared to meet the needs of the industry and/or meet the academic expectations of institutions where Cincinnati State graduates may pursue additional education.
Department Chairs are responsible for curriculum development and implementation in academic departments, primarily in general education areas that do not have specific degrees or certificates associated with the department. Their responsibilities include maintaining the academic integrity of the courses, and ensuring that the courses in their department meet standards established by agencies such as the Higher Learning Commission and the Ohio Department of Higher Education.
